How do I verify my Singapore bank account?

Modified on Tue, 26 Aug at 5:20 AM

Linking a Singapore bank account to your StraitsX account is intended to enable you to transfer in to your account. In order to transfer out funds, your bank account will need to be verified first by making a transfer in or uploading a valid bank statement.

Step 1: Link your bank account

  1. Log in to your StraitsX account.

  2. Click your name in the top-right corner and select "My Account".

  3. Under the "Bank Accounts" tab, click "Add New".

  4. Choose "Singapore Dollar (SGD)" as the currency.

  5. Select your bank name from the list and enter your bank account number. Click "Next".

  6. Confirm your bank account details, then click "Submit".

  7. Your bank account has been added. Once added, your bank account will appear under your account settings.

You must verify your linked bank account before it can be used for withdrawals.

Step 2: Verify your bank account

You can verify your bank account using one of the following methods:

Method 1: Make a bank transfer to your StraitsX account

  1. Go to "My Account" and find your bank account under the "Bank Accounts" tab.

  2. Click "Verify Now" next to the account.

  3. In the pop-up window, select "Transfer In", then click "Next".

  4. Transfer In instructions will be displayed. Follow the instructions shown (transfer type, recipient bank, receiving bank account number, and recipient name).

  5. Make a FAST transfer from your banking app or website.

Important Notes:

  • We only support FAST transfers. GIRO and SWIFT transfers are not accepted.
  • The transfer must be made from a bank account under your name.
  • The maximum accepted amount per transaction is SGD 200,000.
  • Your XSGD balance will be credited and your bank account automatically verified once the transfer is successful.

Method 2: Upload a bank statement

  1. Go to "My Account" and click "Verify Now" next to your bank account.

  2. In the pop-up window, select "Upload bank statement", then click "Next".

  3. Upload a recent bank statement that clearly shows the following:

    • Full name
    • Address
    • Bank account number
    • Bank logo
    • Date of issuance (within the last 3 months)
    • Full document header and footer

  4. Click "Submit".

Once submitted, your statement will be reviewed within 1 business day. You’ll receive an email notification once your bank account is verified.

Note:

  • You still need to upload your bank statement even if you submitted a statement as your Proof of Address. Identity verification and bank account verification are two different processes.
