The StraitsX platform does not support bridged versions of XSGD or any other tokens. Only native XSGD and other native tokens are supported in the StraitsX platform.
What are bridged tokens?
Bridged tokens (also known as cross-chain tokens) are versions of a token that exist on different blockchain networks.
They are created when a token is:
- Locked or burned on one blockchain, and
- Re-issued or represented on another blockchain via a bridge
As a result, bridged tokens are separate contract versions of the original asset and may not be compatible with all platforms.
Why Aren’t Bridged XSGD Tokens Supported?
StraitsX only supports native XSGD on its supported blockchain network.
Bridged versions of XSGD:
- Are issued via third-party bridges
- Exist on different networks
- Are not directly compatible with StraitsX’s on-ramp and off-ramp processes
For this reason, bridged XSGD cannot be processed, converted, or off-ramped on the StraitsX platform.
How do I know whether I have a bridged version of XSGD?
At present, contract addresses of the bridged version of XSGD that we are aware of include:
- 0x769434dcA303597C8fc4997Bf3DAB233e961Eda2 (Polygon) and
- 0xa05245Ade25cC1063EE50Cf7c083B4524c1C4302 (Arbitrum)
These are not supported by StraitsX. Users will need to “unbridge” XSGD (Bridged) back to XSGD (ERC-20) to off-ramp back to Singapore dollars on the StraitsX platform.
What do I need to do if I accidentally send a bridged token to my StraitsX account?
If a bridged token is accidentally sent to your StraitsX account:
- Token recovery is not guaranteed
- Each case is assessed individually based on:
- Token type
- Amount involved
- Technical complexity
- Fees and limitations may apply if recovery is possible
