How to Set Up or Update Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Modified on Tue, 26 Aug at 7:36 AM

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) helps protect your StraitsX account by requiring a one-time code in addition to your password during login.

Setting up 2FA

If you wish to change the mobile device or authenticator app used for 2FA, you may do so by following these steps:

1. Log in to your StraitsX account.

2. Go to the dropdown in the top right-hand corner, which contains your name, and click on your profile > "My Account".

3. Click on the “Security Settings” tab and the “Set Up 2FA” button. If you already have 2FA enabled, click the trash bin icon to remove it first.

4. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed on the screen. Alternatively, you can also enter the setup key manually.

5. Enter the 6-digit code generated by your authenticator app into the field provided.

6. Optionally, label your device (e.g., "Jenny's iPhone") for easier reference.

7. After that, click the "Submit" button.

2FA is now enabled/updated on your account. You will be prompted to enter the 6-digit code each time you log in and initiate a transaction from your StraitsX account.

Troubleshooting

If your 6-digit code doesn’t work, ensure that your device's time is set to automatic and synced correctly. For more information, please refer to this: Troubleshooting Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and OTP Issues.
